Cyberman: Alone Among the Stars (Episode 3: BioDrol)

Image
The PDA entries in this story were prompted by the game “Alone Among the Stars”, you can download it Here . You can follow my twitter here where I do stuff when I do stuff. T here is comfort in the idea that a Cyberman is just a robot; when you look at a Cyberman, it's all you can see, a cold metal exterior, the sounds of pistons extending and reverting, covering for the fizzing sound that can only be heard if you were to foolishly press your face against the metal. It acts inhuman, therefore it can't be human. This was reinforced during the Cyber Wars, which made it significantly easier for soldiers to kill them (emotionally not physically, piercing the metal was still a challenge). To some extent, the Cybermen wanted to believe this too, but for a different reason; to them, a robot is peak performance, never illogical, never inefficient, superior to humans, separating themselves from humans made it easier for the Cybermen to plan mass conversions for them once they left Mond

Special Weapons

Now presenting the story I did for the Friends of Ace "Remembrance of the Daleks" watchalong that also acted as a fundraiser for the Terrence Higgins Trust  (do donate to them if you can)! While I absolutely love how they presented my story (seen here) , they also did kinda make it hard to distinguish the two narrative voices at certain points, so here's this special edition version of it which is just the document I sent them where I made an effort to keep the 2 perspectives separate. This story had been one in the back of my brain for a while and I'm glad I finally got to use it for something, especially for a good cause as opposed to just leaving it to rot on my blog!

LINDA - High Score of Death!!!

It is with a weird sense of pride that I present High Score of Death, my only contribution to the Doctor Who LOCKDOWN fanfiction section. A fanfiction where, throughout all of it, I get a character's name wrong, the MAIN CHARACTER of the episode he's from... but it's fine, he's from a different universe and it's totally authorial intent. While you can find the original version of the story on the website, I have chosen to put my own version on my blog solely because they moved where I put the title and it made the first paragraph read weirdly. Probably shouldn't have done something that goes against format, or put the title both above and below the first paragraph, but it's too late now. I also gave the title a funky arcade font, that wasn't in the original draft but it's there now. Update: Uhh yeah turns out the website is gone forever, good thing I archived it I guess.

The Shades

The Shades The Shades are humanoid figures, looking like some cartoonish version of the Grim Reaper you'd see on the side of a Tavern; or at least the ones I used to frequent. They travel in packs, shrouded by mist formed above the sea; I can only imagine they typically prey upon ships. I speculate that, before sea travel, they stuck to small, close-together islands to avoid being faced by a population large enough to eradicate them. Either the Hinoda or the Motua islands seem like a good fit, plenty packed together, allowing them to pick off a few people on one island and then move to another. This likely stopped when colonisers or traders moved into these areas, these ships dragging these packs further and further into the sea. It would be more frequent than the time it would take for an island to replenish it's people, so they stayed there. Given that neither of these food sources are frequent, I speculate that these creatures don't need to feed often, only doing so when

The Devouring: A Doctor Who Story

Image
This story is set in no particular continuity, neither my own, some book, or the tv show. Jeremy was walking down the street . He was bored of the interior of the Call Centre in which he worked, so he made a promise to himself to go outside more when he got time off. However, he was also slowly getting bored of the areas in which he walked, same street every time, so today he decided he’d change it up. Instead of turning left and continuing down the street, he turned right, heading into a park area which led into the woods.  Tall pillars of oak reached longingly to the sun, hiding it from the eyes of Jeremy as he trod along the dirt . The path ahead was refreshingly clear of any form of building. He knew where he was going and he knew which areas to stay away from, or so he thought.  On an incline, a man was face down in the dirt. His clothes were ragged, a lime green waistcoat that adorned his upper half. His hair was loose and wavy, dishevelled but not very. Jeremy stopped, gazing

What a Concept: Mario Opera Act 2+3 is Insanity

Image
Now of course, Act 1 was only Act 1,  shouldn't there be more? This is a continuation of "Why the Fuck do I like this Mario Rock Opera?" You can listen to act 2+3 here. So, Act 2, the opening song is actually just 3 songs. Unlike in Act 1 when some songs were more a medley of 5 different songs (e.g. "Chorus Back and Forth"), this one doesn't have them all under 1 title, rather listing the names of the segments of the songs, this gets quite convoluted later with 1 song but right now it's a bit more simple with the easy to remember title "Princess Lament, Bowser in Love, Mario is Dead!". In this track, we do get some insight into how the 2 most ignored important characters in the Opera (Princess Peach and Bowser) think, and also how they react to somehow learning Mario is dead. I did admittedly get the conclusion that Bowser was used to getting everything from a moment in this song when he says that, he also talks about Mario coming as if that&#
