Now presenting the story I did for the Friends of Ace "Remembrance of the Daleks" watchalong that also acted as a fundraiser for the Terrence Higgins Trust (do donate to them if you can)! While I absolutely love how they presented my story (seen here), they also did kinda make it hard to distinguish the two narrative voices at certain points, so here's this special edition version of it which is just the document I sent them where I made an effort to keep the 2 perspectives separate.

This story had been one in the back of my brain for a while and I'm glad I finally got to use it for something, especially for a good cause as opposed to just leaving it to rot on my blog!

 It is with a weird sense of pride that I present High Score of Death, my only contribution to the Doctor Who LOCKDOWN fanfiction section. A fanfiction where, throughout all of it, I get a character's name wrong, the MAIN CHARACTER of the episode he's from... but it's fine, he's from a different universe and it's totally authorial intent. While you can find the original version of the story on the website, I have chosen to put my own version on my blog solely because they moved where I put the title and it made the first paragraph read weirdly. Probably shouldn't have done something that goes against format, or put the title both above and below the first paragraph, but it's too late now. I also gave the title a funky arcade font, that wasn't in the original draft but it's there now. Update: Uhh yeah turns out the website is gone forever, good thing I archived it I guess.

The Devouring: A Doctor Who Story

  This story is set in no particular continuity, neither my own, some book, or the tv show. Jeremy was walking down the street . He was bored of the interior of the Call Centre in which he worked, so he made a promise to himself to go outside more when he got time off. However, he was also slowly getting bored of the areas in which he walked, same street every time, so today he decided he’d change it up. Instead of turning left and continuing down the street, he turned right, heading into a park area which led into the woods.  Tall pillars of oak reached longingly to the sun, hiding it from the eyes of Jeremy as he trod along the dirt . The path ahead was refreshingly clear of any form of building. He knew where he was going and he knew which areas to stay away from, or so he thought.  On an incline, a man was face down in the dirt.
